Garden pods & mobile homes. And who gets them into your garden.
Garden pods, 45m² garden houses and mobile homes from suppliers in your county, plus the hauliers, crane firms and base contractors who deliver and site them.
Mobile homes, pods & garden homes, and who delivers them
Pick your county to see firms based there first, then firms from neighbouring counties and nationwide.
Details below are taken from each business's own website. We have not independently verified them. Check credentials, insurance and tax compliance yourself before hiring anyone. Featured listings are part of our founding offer and are marked.
Getting it into the garden is usually three separate hires
Most people find this out on delivery day. Sort all three before you pay for the unit.

The base
A level concrete slab or ground screws, matched to the unit's footprint and ready before delivery day.
Ground & base preparation
Delivery
A haulier brings it to your gate or driveway. Getting it any further usually isn't included.
Delivery & transport
Siting or a crane lift
With side access, it's wheeled into place. Without it, a crane lifts it over the house. Crane firms lift; they don't deliver.

Buying a mobile home? Know this first
- Dealers sell nationwide. Many include delivery, so ask before you book a separate haulier.
- The base matters. A level hard standing or pads, ready before delivery.
- The 45m² exemption doesn't cover mobile homes. It only applies to permanent structures. Check with your council if you plan to live in one.
A 32–45m² home in your back garden, without planning permission
Permanent, detached homes of 32–45m² in the rear garden of your main residence no longer need a planning application, if the conditions are met. The conditions are where people get caught.
Read the full guide- 32–45m², rear garden of your main home
- 4m high with a pitched roof, 3m for flat roofs (including the base)
- Notify the council 14 days before work starts
- The 45m² includes existing garden structures
- Building Regulations still apply in full
- Must start and finish by 31 December 2030

Straight answers
Do I need planning permission for a garden home in Ireland?
Not if it meets the 45m² exemption that came in on 27 July 2026: between 32m² and 45m², in the rear garden of your main home, within the height limits, with the council notified 14 days before work starts. Read the full guide.
Do mobile homes or static caravans count under the 45m² rule?
No. The exemption only covers permanent structures. A mobile home or static caravan in a back garden is not exempt, whatever its size. Check with your council before buying one to live in.
Do crane firms deliver as well?
Usually not. Crane firms lift; hauliers deliver. If you have no side access you'll normally book both, for the same day. That's why we list them separately.
What does it cost to get a unit into my garden?
It depends mostly on access. Our cost calculator estimates the parts we have real pricing for (concrete base and crane hire) and tells you which parts need a quote.
Is PodMove a seller?
No. We're an independent directory. We list suppliers, dealers and service firms, and pass on quote requests only with your consent. Your contract is always with the firm you choose.
Is it free?
Yes, for buyers. Businesses list free until 31 January 2027; featured placements are marked.
